Nice To Meet You

The previous several posts are dedicated to Elmer Morrissey, a darling and earnest young man who made me like him within the first 30 seconds of our meeting. I interviewed Elmer to be my roommate a few months ago. Elmer was a postdoc at Lawrence Berkeley  Laboratory, played rugby, and was sweetly charming.

Today, I learned that he was involved in a sailing tragedy racing around the Farallon Islands and remains missing at sea. The incident is being called the worst of its kind in three decades.

Very LA-centric, but I love this short film by Sheri & Ryan Killackey, via Honestly WTF.
